Join us at our opening concert to hear select members of the Washington Symphonic Brass, with organist Eric Dombrowski of Grace Church. Founders Milton Stevens and Phil Snedecor formed the group out of love and excitement for this fine literature. Individually the members of the WSB have performed with many of the nation's best orchestras, including the National Symphony, Baltimore Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as the nation’s top military bands.
“Brass, boldly redefined… (by these) skilled and ambitious players…”
-The Washington Post

Christopher

Since making his New York City debut, award-winning Christòpheren Nomura has performed throughout the world, hailed as one of classical music’s “rising stars” by the Wall Street Journal. Distinguished for his broad musical range, Mr. Nomura is a noted Mozartean known for his portrayals of Don Giovanni, Papageno in The Magic Flute, the Count in Le nozze di Figaro and Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.  As a Bach specialist, he has been a frequent performer with the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, the Carmel Bach Festival, Baldwin-Wallace Bach Festival, the Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Early Music Festival, Boston Baroque and the Berkshire Choral Festival.

“Christòpheren Nomura is definitely a face to watch - and a voice to hear. His musical intentions are both subtle and direct. He has a wonderfully expressive face and a first-class baritone voice - warm, robust and clear.”                  - The Boston Globe

The Kennedy Center Chamber Players is an internationally acclaimed chamber ensemble comprised of principal chair players in the National Symphony Orchestra. Our concert features a core group of some of the NSO’s most distinguished members: Concertmaster Nurit Bar-Josef, Principal Second Violin Natasha Bogacheck, Principal Viola Daniel Foster, Principal Cello David Hardy and Pianist Lambert Orkis, winner of a Grammy for Best Chamber Music Performance. Their program of Haydn, Previn and Brahms is a high-powered finale for the season.
“Recipe for an exemplary "Kennedy Center Chamber Players concert: Take two upbeat works written by famed symphonists experimenting with sonority and balance before writing their first symphonies. Add one mature, darker piece. Season impeccably. Warmly serves several hundred.”             - The Washington Post
